Born in Tennessee and raised in Atlanta, Elisa Tenenbaum studied art at the University of London before receiving her BFA from The Atlanta College of Art, completing her MFA at The Hartford Art School in 1980. Since 1981 she has participated in over 70 national and regional solo and group exhibits, and her work is in over 250 corporate and private collections throughout North America and Europe. Some of the galleries she exhibited with are Chase Gallery in Boston, Meyer-Munson in Santa Fe, and Rosenfeld in Philadelphia. Her illustrations have appeared in numerous publications including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. She currently works by commission and as an illustrator, and is also an adjunct professor at Northwest Connecticut Community College.
