Cow Designs

We selected some of our all-time favorite cows from the six-inch figurine collection, plus some new cows that have yet to appear in the CowParade line.  The cows are 4 inches in length, on average, and vary in height depending on the cow design.

Sculptures - How Are They Made?

From detailed photographs of the original, life-size cows, sculptors prepare clay models, with consideration for the later processes of casting in multiple parts, color painting and the location of crystals.

Molding and Casting Process

After a sculpture is completed, it will be used to cast a master mold, from which rubber production molds can be made.  The molten metal alloy is poured into the production mold which is rotated at a high speed in the spin-casting machine.  A rough casting of the product will be produced and then, after several other processes, such as, grinding, trimming, polishing, and then soldering the hinge attachment to assemble the two main parts together.

Plating and Painting

There are two main plating metals on our jeweled boxes, 24-carat gold or fine silver, depending on the final coloration of the product.  After casting, each piece will be completely plated and this is then followed by detailed color painting.  Special thick liquid paints, similar to enamels, are used and the piece needs to be kiln fired for 4 to 6 hours after each color has been applied.

Crystals

To make the jeweled box is even more stunning, crystals in various colors and sizes are added to the box.  The sizes vary from 1.3mm to 8.0mm and many colors are used in the different cows.

Special Packaging

All our Jeweled Boxes are packed into a two-piece gift box, lined with a satin fabric, to protect each delicate piece.
